CORE Foundation Curriculum Tracker

Status: proposed tracker
Scope: documentation only; this file tracks planned, in-progress, admitted, and deferred curriculum work.


Status vocabulary

Use these statuses consistently.

Status Meaning
PLANNED The slice is proposed and ordered but no pack/eval implementation exists yet.
DESIGNING A slice-specific design doc or ADR candidate is being drafted.
IMPLEMENTING Pack/eval/test work exists on a branch but is not admitted.
BLOCKED A prerequisite or contradiction prevents progress.
ADMITTED Pack, eval, tests, docs, and admission evidence are present and accepted.
DEFERRED Intentionally delayed because prerequisites are missing or priority changed.
RETIRED Superseded by a later admitted slice.

No slice should be marked ADMITTED from prose alone.


Admission checklist per slice

A curriculum slice requires:

  • slice design documented under docs/curriculum/
  • pack manifest added or updated
  • deterministic pack data added
  • eval README added
  • public/dev eval cases added as appropriate
  • runner or harness support added if needed
  • tests added
  • refusal/undetermined cases included
  • replay/provenance artifacts stable where applicable
  • no unrelated runtime behavior changed
  • existing relevant eval lanes remain non-regressed

Foundation stages

Stage 1 — Language relation substrate

Status: PLANNED

Purpose: make every later subject parseable as typed claims and relations.

Candidate artifacts:

  • every parsed claim carries evidence span

  • negations do not invert unsupported claims
  • insufficient evidence yields typed refusal or undetermined state
  • existing GSM8K behavior does not regress

Stage 2 — Arithmetic semantics and quantity state

Status: PLANNED

Purpose: compile story statements into deterministic quantity/state ledgers.

Stage 3 — Measurement, units, and dimensional reasoning

Status: PLANNED

Purpose: attach quantities to reality and reject invalid operations.

Status: PLANNED

Purpose: preserve truth under inference.

Stage 5 — Scientific method and evidence grammar

Status: PLANNED

Purpose: separate observation, hypothesis, inference, verification, contradiction, and scope.

Status: PLANNED

Purpose: reason under uncertainty without overclaiming.

Status: PLANNED

Purpose: make procedures, traces, and state machines first-class.

Purpose: enable cross-field transfer without collapsing domain boundaries.

These are intentionally downstream of the foundation stages.
